Two IGTP groups lead a European analysis to understand key factors for digitalisation in practice environments

The research groups in Nursing Care (NURECARE) and Innovation, Health Economics and Digital Transformation (INEDIT) from the IGTP are leading the publication of the first report on the key factors for introducing digital technologies in professional nursing practice environments. Through this effort, professionals from the Germans Trias Hospital are participating for the first time in the design of a comprehensive analysis of the required changes, while also offering recommendations to ensure the success of any initiative aimed at incorporating these technologies into hospitals.

IGTP introduces super-resolution microscope at CMCiB

A state-of-the-art super-resolution fluorescence confocal microscope, called Abberior Infinity, was installed in the high-level biosafety (NCB3) facility of the Centre for Comparative Medicine and Bioimage (CMCiB). The equipment of this class, unique in the region, is a powerful tool for anyone aiming to perform advanced microscopy studies on fully infectious Level 3 pathogens (HIV, SARS-CoV-2, Monkey Pox, TB etc.) The microscope is available for use by all internal and external users via IGTP Microscopy Platform.

Hyposfix, a new medical device to improve paediatric urological surgeries, has been developed by researchers at Germans Trias Hospital, with support from IGTP

The expertise and innovation spirit of researchers at Germans Trias Hospital's Paediatric Surgery Service has resulted in a new medical device for the treatment of hypospadias: Hyposfix, a urological separator-fixator. This device, which will be launched to market soon, is the result of an idea and a project led at Germans Trias i Pujol Research Institute (IGTP).

The Clinical and Environmental Infectious Diseases Research Group signs a collaboration for the development of a new biocide for the treatment of drinking water

The Clinical and Environmental Infectious Diseases Research Group (CEID) has discovered a molecule of natural origin with a high bactericidal, amoebicidal and biofilm reduction capacity. The collaboration signed by the group's researchers with a private company will finance the improvement of the molecule's characteristics to be applied in large water installations, preventing water for human consumption from acting as a vehicle for the transmission of bacterial diseases.

Nine IGTP researchers participated in the 5th Edition of #100tífiques

The #100tífiques 2023 event was held with the participation of 573 women researchers. They gave simultaneous talks during the morning to around 40,000 students aged 11 to 13 across 505 Catalan schools. The purpose of the event is to encourage children to pursue scientific and technical careers while fostering a community of shared interests between academics and industry professionals. Nine scientists working at the Germans Trias i Pujol Institute (IGTP) took part in the event.

Researchers explain science like never before in the first European Performing Science Night in Badalona

The Germans Trias i Pujol Research Institute (IGTP) has participated in a ground-breaking event to bring art and science together for European Performing Science Night with results that left nobody indifferent. The Fundació Èpica la Fura dels Baus led the project which involved artists and scientists from the IGTP and four international universities.
