Outreach
As noted in IGTP's strategy, the centre is committed to promoting communication, visibility, and social impact. In addition to disseminating researchers' work through conventional media, the institute has initiatives that bring science closer to society, especially young people, and encourage their participation.
#científiques
IGTP's women scientists regularly take part in the #científiques (previously known as #100tífiques) initiative to mark the International Day of Women and Girls in Science. This event encourages children to pursue scientific and technical careers. It is organised by Fundació Catalana per a la Recerca i la Innovació (FCRI) and Barcelona Institute of Science and Technology (BIST), in collaboration with the Department of Education of the Catalan Government.
Can Ruti Open House
As one of the main events of the Science Week in Badalona, IGTP co-organises an open door session for students alongside other Can Ruti Campus institutions and the city council. The students have the opportunity to learn about the research of a variety of groups and also visit some of the care and research areas in situ.
La Nit de la Recerca
Every year, researchers at IGTP are eager to take part in the European Researchers' Night activities in Catalonia. This event is celebrated simultaneously in over 300 cities across 30 countries in Europe. Whether through their own workshop or as part of a series of talks, the scientists present their research in an engaging way to an audience of all ages.
Un bri de ciència
The podcast of IGTP, Un bri de ciència, is a project with the aim of bringing IGTP's research beyond biomedicine professionals and closer to the general public. The inherent flexibility of podcasts, coupled with a narrative, engaging and easily digestible format, are key elements to achieve this goal. Special occasions such as international health-related days are used as an opportunity for researchers at the centre to explain their research through narrative capsules.
Visita la recerca - La Marató de 3CAT
The "Visita la recerca" (Visit the research) cycle of the Fundació La Marató de 3CAT represents a unique opportunity to engage directly with the public and showcase the research conducted at IGTP. With these visits, La Marató collaborators have the opportunity to gain insight into the research projects funded through this charitable initiative.
