IGTP secures over €2 million in state funding for research projects focused on technological innovation and scientific advancement
The Germans Trias i Pujol Research Institute (IGTP) has received grants for six research projects in two calls from the Spanish Research Agency, under the State Plan for Scientific and Technical Research and Innovation 2021-2023. The funds were provided by the Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities, with co-funding from the European Union.
The "Proyectos en colaboración público-privada 2023" call aimed to foster cooperation between businesses and research institutions to promote the development of new technologies, the commercial application of new ideas and techniques, and contribute to the creation of new products and services. IGTP received funding for three projects. Two of these seek solutions for heart conditions, one led by the spin-off Nimble Diagnostics and the other by Banc de Sang i Teixits. The final project focuses on the gene therapy led by the spin-off Biointaxis, which, together with IDIPAZ and IDIBGI, has accumulated a total of 1.7 million euros in this call to bring treatment to a patient cohort. This is further complemented by an additional €466,291 from the European Commission.
